Iceland: Renewable Energy, Technology, and Resource Economics
World Learning SIT Study Abroad Program offers a course on Renewable Energy, Technology, and Resource Economics in Iceland.
Students spend time in the capital, Reykjavík, where they learn about Iceland´s energy policy from politicians, industry leaders, and social activists. Two weeks of the programme are spent at the University Centre of the Westfjords in Ísafjörður, where students will learn about renewable energy and sustainability through coursework and learn to apply principles on a small town scale. Here students also get the opportunity to learn what it is like to live in Iceland, as they will stay with local families.
The University Centre has welcomed a new SIT group each summer since 2007 and is expecting a group in 2013.
